Xiaomi Mi 4i is the latest smartphone launch from the company in India. It is the low end variant of Xiaomi Mi 4 and comes wit a price tag of Rs 12999. Now if you want to enable USB debugging on Xiaomi Mi 4i, here is how to do it.

The Xiaomi Mi 4i runs on Android 5.0.2 Lollipop OS out of the box. Basically, enabling USB Debugging Mode on your Xiaomi Mi 4i should be similar to any other device running the same OS. Follow below given steps to know how to do the same.

Enable Developer Options in Xiaomi Mi 4i

Before you can enable USB Debugging on your device, you have to enable Developer Options in it. Developer Options comes disabled by default and you have to enable it manually. Here is how to do the same.

Step 1: Unlock your Xiaomi Mi 4i.

Step 2: from Apps, go to Settings.

Step 3: Under Settings screen, scroll down to the bottom of the page and find About Phone.

Step 4: Tap on About Phone to open it.

Step 5: Under About Phone, you will see MIUI Version.

Step 6: Now you have to tap 7 times on MIUI Version in a row to enable Developer Options.

After 7 taps you will see a message notifying, ” You are now a Developer”. That’s it. Follow next set steps to enable USB Debugging on Xiaomi Mi 4i.

Enable USB Debugging Mode on Xiaomi Mi 4i

Step 1: From Apps, tap on Settings.

Step 2: Under Settings, scroll down to the bottom of the page and tap on Additional Settings and then on Developer Options.

Step 3: Under Developer Options, you will see Enable USB Debugging option. Enable it.

That’s All! You have successfully enabled, USb Debugging on Xiaomi Mi 4i.

  • Hi, I used a Mi 4i bought in Singapore from MI. The Andriod Version is 5.0.2 LRX22G.
    To enable Developers Option. Touch on "MIUI version" in "About Phone" as many times as it takes to enable the function. It will prompt to confirm.
    Then go to '"Additional Settings" in "Settings" to enable USB Debugging.

    Hi i tried the above setting, still unable to connect my phone to laptop. When i connect it to laptop via usb..its getting charged, but i am unable to browse my files.
    can you suggest something on it?
